At Harbinger Group's annual awards function last week, the 500-strong audience witnessed a unique event.
The Generation Y, represented by twelve young men and women members of Harbinger, participated in a talk show. As their host took them through a series of questions, what unfolded was a rich fabric of dreams, aspirations, emotions, achievements, values, work ethics and lifestyle choices of this dynamic generation.
Given the unique demographic cycle through which India is passing, the 1.2 billion strong nation will have a fascinating workforce composition by the turn of the decade - a good majority of people will be under 30, and possibly managed by today's Gen Y.
The youngsters on stage - aware of their hot seat, but confident in their demeanor - answered questions effortlessly, and their stories were applauded by the audience ceaselessly. We witnessed a youthful company whose core values were evident in its youngest members - what a blessing!
